For the plusweeks I wanted to het to know a program I wanted to learn for a long while, Blender. Its a program used for several different things. In blender you can sculpt, make scenes, create full animated characters, make models and much more. A very versetile tool to have in your kit, and thats why I wanted to learn it.

As a product designer I could not only create my products in here, I could also make displays amd animate it into the real world with the tools given.

On the right site you can see some of the things you are able to create in blender.
And because I'm totally new to Blender I ofcourse needed some guidance. So I found a 24 part tutorial devided in 4 levels by someone named "The Blender Guru". I guess the name says enough and he convinced me to watch his tutorial series, covering all the basics of blender.

In the first level we started with creating the basic shape of a donut, since a donut isn't prefectly formed. As the Blender Guru said: "Visual imperfection is the new perfection".
For the second level we added sprinkles, cause whats a donut without sprinkles. The important thing about this was random patterning, learning how to create a reppetition of shapes without creating them all individualy. With a tool provided by Blender you could group the sprinkles, and also tell how much you wanted from each one.

This was also the part where we started to color the donut, because a donut is not one color. With a tool from blender you can unfold a shape and draw/paint on it to give it its texture and paint. For this part it was only the paint we used.
Then I gave the donut some texture. Also with a tool provided by blender you can create a kind of 3D noise, (oneffenheden).

With this step I more and more started to look like a donut.

With all these parts all the renders were made in between big changes. With rendering you have too keep lighting an cmaera position in mind.
As you can see the frosting on th last donut looks different then the second donut, and thats only because of the light.

With the donut done, we were only halfway through the tutorial

Next up, a glass cup.

(that rhymes)
In the third level I focused on making a coffee cup and a plate. The shape of a donut was already a basic shape given by blender, but for the coffee cup I had to make it from scratch.
I started of with a flat circle and stretched it out until I got a cup and gave it a thickness.
And with making the ear of the cup you could say it was some sort of claying. Each time adding a little pieces and strech it out until you get the shape.
After everything you created a selfmade shape of a coffee cup.

After making the cup I started playing around with transparancy for the glass material, and light absorbsion for the coffee in it.
Next up was the condensation to make it more life like. Here we did the same thing as we did with texturing the donut, by unwrapping the cup and giving it a texture. While giving the texture you can decide how big the droplets are and how much you want and in what area. This went really in depth into realism.
In level 4, the last level, there is a focus on composition, lighting and rendering. Since I'm not yet done with this level, I don't have a final result yet. The picture on the right side is the first render with the donut and coffee cup together.

In the rest of the level I am going to make a better enviorment. A nice countertop, and a better background.

Also there is a little introduction to animation and I will animate the donut sliding into frame on a plate.

Light is going to be a focus point aswell.

This page will be updated if I finished the tutorial.
In between the blender tutorial I also experimented in photoshop with creating textured posters. Like you can actually see its made of paper. I was a try out and im still figuring out how to get the best results

And also a lot of time went into Zooii, a clothing line me and a friend of mine started. The first sample order came in and there was a lot of quality checks and planning on doing a shoot for the website that is also in the making, which I can't share unfortunately
